“It was unfortunate. It was kind of an interaction with Cowboys supporters out in front of us,” Jones explained during a Tuesday interview. “There was a large group of Cowboys fans—not New York fans, our fans. The entire stadium was brimming with enthusiasm for the Cowboys.”
He further clarified that the gesture was entirely accidental, happening amid the excitement following the team’s last score. “I simply put up the incorrect digit,” he remarked. “The action was accidentally performed. This is sincere. Should you call it unplanned, you can. But it got corrected pretty quick.”
