The equaliser sparked rapturous celebrations from the home contingent, while it was a crushing blow to West Ham's safety bid.
The result does little to alleviate the drop zone fears for the London club, who remain firmly entrenched in the fight at the bottom of the Premier League. Meanwhile for Albion, it represents another example of their never-say-die spirit, but also underscores the inconsistency that continue holding back their season.
